An evening among stars: Willo x 28th Annual SAG Awards

On Sunday, February 27th, Willo was honored to be the official blend of the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards) and the first to deliver produce grown in the most advanced vertical farm in existence. Founded in 1952 and recognized as a major Hollywood event, the SAG Awards celebrates the achievements of performers in movies and prime time television and powerfully embraces the collaborative art that is acting. 

Our team of experts curated a delicate, delectable mix of greens for the stars to enjoy – a combination of Joi Choi, a tender, crunchy and versatile bok choi, and our Savanna Brassica, a beautiful green hybrid between spinach and mustard with a pleasant peppery flavor. 

Willo had the pleasure of serving celebrity attendees our pristine blend alongside  our tasteful, refreshing basil cocktail, the Wishful Willo. Celebrity Chef for the SAG Awards (and my fellow Aussie compatriot), Curtis Stone, even requested to take Willo’s produce home with him so he could share a taste of Willo with family and friends. Actors such as Reese Witherspoon, Michael Keaton, Kevin Costner, Jean Smart, and Dame Helen Mirren were all fascinated to learn about Willo. 

The outstanding response among the influential celebrities was a gratifying reminder that taste truly is Willo’s superpower. Our revolutionary vertical farming technology transforms a small seed into the best tasting, freshest produce on the planet to create an unprecedented eating experience.
