About the recipe
This is my favorite smoothie recipe that’s on repeat all summer long. I love making it for friends and family and hearing their exclamation of surprise when they first try it – the basil provides a unique, refreshing twist to this tasty green smoothie. It’s sweet, herbaceous and keeps you coming back for more.
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen mango
- ¼-inch piece of fresh ginger
- 1-2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Vanilla protein powder (optional)
- 1 pitted date (optional)
- 4-5 Willo basil leaves
- 1 handful Willo kale or spinach
Nufar Basil Genovese Basil Baby Kale
Add all ingredients except the almond milk to a high-powered blender. Starting with 1 cup of almond milk, blend until you’ve reached your desired consistency, adding more almond milk as needed. Blend until fully combined. Scoop into a serving bowl and top with your desired toppings (we like fresh fruit, chia seeds, and dried mulberries).
